Some of us will go on to further our education, while others may choose to marry or embark upon the career of their choice. Wherever we go, or Whatever we do, we may take comfort from the fact that in the knowledge we have gained from Somers High, we hold the key to success in what- ever we wish to attempt. With proud but heavy hearts, the Class of 1966 bids farewell to Somers High School. 3 CLASS HISTORY S As apprehensive but curious seventh graders, we entered Somers High in the fall of 1960. We quickly assumed our roles as junior high students and set about the serious business of accumulating a treasury to serve us in the future. Our two years in the junior high passed swiftly, and we soon found ourselves accepted as a part of the high school, after having undergone a light -hearted and fun -filled initiation Week. Our sophomore and junior years found us participating in an endless round of dances, parties, athletics, and many other extracurricular activities. We also spon- 4- sored food sales and car washes, and in our junior year we initiated the winter Semi formal dance. Many of us attended the junior-senior prom. As seniors, We have kept constantly busy. The senior food booth, initiation dance senior play, spaghetti supper, senior-faculty game, and prom have all played major roles in the acting out of our final year at Somers High. Graduation will be an intermingling of joy at having completed high school and sadness at having to leave. 5 To a big man with a big voice who has helped us through our high school years with his trust and guidance. Thank you for your unselfish in- terest and the giving of your time to our sports, our activities, and our personal problems. U We dedicate this yearbook to you who have dedicated yourself to us.
