SUPPLY DEPART T The Supply Department is divided into tive areas, General- ly speaking. though. Supply is the department that takes care ot' the crew. Supply provides the food for officers and crew. the laundry services. haircuts. pays the crew and provides them with a place to buy the little odds and ends they might re- quire at sea. Supply also provides the tools and parts needed for the upkeep of the ship and different systems in- stalled. The cooks are responsible for the general mess. They receive. stow. inventory all food stuffs. They are also responsible for menu planning, preparation, and financial management of ration costs and allowances. The Stewards have much the same responsibilities as cooks. plus they must keep Of- ficer Country spotless, serve the Wardroom meals in all kinds of weather. tlclereby hangs a tale or twol.
