SOMERS' communication team insured a smooth, continuous flow of both incoming and outgoing message traffic. Most people today are totally unaware of what a Radioman does and how he Qoes about his job. No longer does the Radioman listen to the dits and dahs of Morse Code 35 3,DfifTlary means of communication. Now he must be the Master of a complex and sophisticated teletype system. Along with these newer systems has been a tremendous increase in the volume of traffic handled. Paper pushing is not the only responsibility a Radioman has while on watch. He ensures that all tactical communications circuits are up and working when required.
