ir- f .lla Class Histor HEN WE BEGAN our Freshman year in 1954 there were eleven of us in our class. These original members included Frances Fecteau, Fred Walther, George Kiger, Arthur Mayhew, Bruce LaCasce, Wayne Buzzell, Francis Heath, Lawrence Morin, Dianne Stevens, Douglas Hayden, and Wilfred Giroux. Most of us had been together since first grade. During that first year we lost two of our classmates, Francis and Wayne, and gained a new mem- ber from Bingham, Norma Phillips. We had fun selling fudge, pop- corn and apples at recess, and were well represented in such school activities as basketball, baseball, cheering, Senior Play and Prize Speaking. We also sponsored a special Talent Show to help fatten our class fund. VV e began our Sophomore year with nine members, but lost an- other member, Lawrence, during the year. Our Sophomore year was one we had all looked forward to, the year we bought our class rings. Surprisingly enough, all members chose the same style. Again most of our members participated in the extra-curricular activities offered. The beginning of our junior year found eight of us taking an- other step toward Graduation. During this year we lost two more classmates: Norma Phillips, due to illness, and Wilfred Giroux, due to an unfortunate fire. Wilfred transferred to Skowhegan, Frances Fecteau transferred to Edgewater High, Florida in November, but returned in January to finish the year at Solon High. In our junior year we were again busy raising money for our Senior class trip. VVe sponsored The Wagon Mastersf' starring Roy Aldridge, held record hops at the Solon Fire Hall, sold fudge, and chose our Senior Play, His Name Was Aunt Nellie. On September 4, 1957 we entered our Senior year with six of us present. We presented our Senior Play, which was a big success, had our class pictures taken at Stevens Studio in Bangor, and began work on THE Drmco. Again we held dances to earn money, and to further our own plans for a class trip. Although we all will have been extremely busy in this our Sen- ior year, I am certain it will be a year which we will all remember with fondest memories. 1 '+N I V' K 1451410 my 'A P- W1 lla
