Unity keeps j-V going 1 A I'm very proud of this team. I feel it's been one of the best teams I have ever had in high school. Helping each other and playing as a united team really kept them go- ing at all times, said Coach Frank Perez. Schools like jefferson and Las Cruces Mayfield really gave them a tough season. Starters for the j.V. were Louie Cabrera, Frank Castillo, Albert Fuentes, Nelson Lizarazo and Matthew Farley. High scorers were Albert Fuentes, averaging 13.4 pts. per game, and Louie Cabrera, averag- ing 11 pts. per game. ZA Q15 1981-82 j.V. Basketball members are, kneeling, Rudy Ortiz and Alex Domin- guez. 4- Enthusiastic attitude 1 1 4 Under the guidance of first year bas- ketball coachjesse Brown, the j.V. girls had a good season. Everything seemed to be going their way at the beginning of the season as they started off with a five-game win- ning streak. They couldn't keep the mo- mentum going as they entered district competition, but they still managed to over take opponents such as Eastwood and El Paso High.
