Homecoming enlightens pride Homecoming is an event that appeals to and attracts everyoneg a week filled with activities. It took much effort to make the week be- come a very successful one. The juniors started off the Homecoming activities by cele- brating 'junior Week. They sponsored special days and deco- rated the halls and lockers. Most important was the planning and organization of the dance and the selection of Godfather's Disco to play. Our traditional bonfire was lit Wednesday night. Everyone gath- ered around and cheered as Bull- dog spirit rose. The band and cheerleaders added life to the bonfire. Friday morning was filled with tension and excitment, for Home- coming day had finally arrived. Students exchanged corsages and garters, and decorated their cars, showing that their pride and spirit was high. Afterwards, during lunch, crowds gathered around the decorated cars as judges exam- ined them. In the afternoon the student body gathered in the bleachers to participate in the most-spirited pep rally of the year. The Home- coming Court was given corsages presented by junior Class Vice President Rosemary Perez and ju- nior Darlene Calderon. The varsi- ty football team, coaches and exes were also given recognition at the pep assembly. Special guests in- cluded jocks from radio station KSET. The varsity football team gave us their best as they tackled the Riverside Rangers. The audience cheered and shouted for the Bull- dogs throughout the home game. Even though we lost our Home- coming game, we still had that spunk that took us from the begin- ning to the end of the game. The dance, held at Trejo's hall, lifted up Bulldog spirits after the tire- some game. 18 Homecoming X F5 f' . f'fEf7fr'.-WW..f.1.,aeEs. L, f.',-,. i , . . We contemplat ou new goals We began the 1981-82 school year with as many activities as we could think of: the Blood Drive, Stock Show, Veteran's Day Pa- rade, skits for pep rallies, registra- tion, sporting activities, and many more activities. With all these ac- tivities, faculty and students pre- pared for the upcoming months. This gave us enthusiasm, inspira- tion, and hope to accomplish our goals. During the year we all gave part of our pride to make these things happen. fly Sabino Martinez proudly shows off his bacon at a livestock show.
