JHS seeks excellence Working in conjunction with the National-Iunior Honor Society at the junior high, Mrs.joyce Win- ters organized a NJHS on the high school campus. The group spent the year work- ing on fund raisers and coordinat- ing plans for the spring induction with Mr. joe Avalos at the junior high. Membership in NJHS is based on scholarship, leadership, char- acter and service. Names of stu- dents who meet the academic re- quirements are submitted to teach- ers, who fate them on the above qualities. Students attend seminars 2 A Students from each classifica- tion were nominated by their teachers for membership in the Gifted and Talented program. These students attended monthly seminars at Region XIX, where they were instructed in various listening, leadership, problem solving and citizenship skills by leaders of the community.
