Tiger’s Lair Snyder High School Snyder, Texas Volume 42 1978 Preface Fall Winter Spring Index 2-17 18-119 120-147 148-203 204-211 3 4 5 Everything happens In seasons, the autumnal evenings of fall; with the leaves turning brown, and the birds moving south; which slowly changes to the cold harsh and sometimes very beautiful winter, with the snow on the ground, and a frosty mist in the air. 8 the grass turns green, the trees have leaves again, the animals come out of hibernation with new young. 13 It's Nature's paradox, the changing seasons. They change, yet they remain the same. Each, unique In itself, blends into the oth- er. Autumn's crisp coolness signals Winter's cold harshness which melts into Spring's clear freshness. In a sense the seasons re- flect human nature — a nature that changes, and grows, yet still possesses a common basis — humanity. 14 In Memoriam James Bruns 1961-1977 Cool autumn winds; Farmers harvesting crops; Smoke-colored leaves falling from trees; Birds migrating south; these are the signs of Fall. 19 1 I . a 1 -W I % m ... are like acts in a play. The first act is Fall the second act is Winter, and the third act is Spring. Act Three is completed, the play is over, and the final cur- tain has dropped. It is time for the Seniors to leave for big- ger and better things while the Juniors move up to give their last performance. Soon, the cast will be totally different. The script, however, will be the same. The actors will always keep their performances in the backs of their minds; they are sad that they are leaving, yet they are also happy. They spent twelve years preparing for the fi- nal act and were glad when it arrived. Some of the performers were given top billing while others made up the supporting cast. All of the performers were im- portant to the play, whether stars or otherwise. So the play has finished for the season. In three months, however, the next will open with a new and different cast. 220
