BOARD OF EDUCATION The Snyder School Board has a strong faith in the value of educationg therefore it has set high standards for its schools and has spent many, many hours in planning for the construction of needed facilities and the development of an educational program which is responsive to the needs of students in Snyder. When men such as these board members give as much of their time and talent toward the ultimate goal of better educa- tion, surely the result will always be good schools such as we in Snyder enjoy.

ex' N MR. T, E, MCCOLLUM, Superintendent of Schools SUPERINTENDENT Mr. T.E. McCollurn is serving his first year as Superintendent of the Snyder School System, coming to Snyder from McAllen, Texas, where he served eleven years as Super- intendent. Mr. McCollum is an experienced educator, having been aclassroom teacher, coach, principal, and superintendent in several Texas school systems. He did his Bache- lor's work in Hardin-Simmons University, received his Master's Degree from Texas Technological College, and has done work on his Doctor's Degree at the University of Texas. He has served on the State PTA Board, has been on the State Executive Committee of the Texas State Teachers' Association, and is active in civic and church work. Mr. McCollum gives the following as his philosophy of education: I believe that the Snyder Schools are provided for the benefit of students who attend public schools. I hope to be able to help create an atmosphere in which boys and girls can develop physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually, where each student will acquire a great patriotic love of our country, and will realize that position, honor, and dignity can be accomplished only by hard work.
