From the Halls of Montezuma To the shores of Tripoli, They will fight our country's battle In the air, on land, and sea. To add to their glorious past Once more they're on the scenes Of all the major battles, Fighting, fearless Marines. While battling in the Solomons, That torrid, swampy land, Round the world these words were Situation well in hand. Anchors Aweigh, my Boys. Anchors .Aweigh, Farewell to college joys They sail at break of day. Our boys as sailors may be found On boats in every sea With naval planes and war-ships They keep the waters free. In the Coral Sea, the Navy Blue Beat the japs, winning fame. Soon everyone had heard the phrase, Sighted sub and sank same. il? e ,Salute Over hill, over dale, as we hit the dusty trail y And the Caissons go rolling along. In the tanks, in the trench, you can count upon our men To right Pearl I-Iarbor's wrong. These dauntless men in khaki garb Have sworn to be avengers Of the heroes on that far-oif isle, Bataan's gallant defenders. Our Johnny Doughboys everywhere Have proved their strength and might echoedf And the Army has shown the Rising Sun That soon will come the night. Off they go into the wild blue yonder, Climbing high into the sun. For missions successfully completed The respect of the Allies they've won. To bomb the Axis cities In the fortresses they go.
