gckfor 2 Wiedoage RADITIONALLY. as editor of the Scroll, I am supposed to bewail on this page-the fact that I ever took that job. Yes, the assumption of my editorial duties did deprive me of time for numerous other extra- curricular activities in which it would have pleased me to take part. Time for recreation was cur- tailed considerably, too. And even studies very often presented a serious problem. Yet, in spite of these detractions, the editing of this Scroll has not been devoid of its eompensations. To have met such generous and unselfish people as Miss Sexton and Miss Alliot, our Scroll advisers, would in itself be compensation for much work and self-denial. As late as 6 ITM. daily, and even during the Easter vacation, they stayed to lend a helping hand to an erring editor or an uncertain staff member. My staff has been most cooperative. Ive have had many laughs and much fun together. But when our deadline drew near, hard, serious work became the order of the day. To Leonard Sibley, Hasmig Terzagian, Kenneth Steinhardt, Lucretia Lynde, and Florence Soled, I extend especial thanks for the outstanding assistance they gave me throughout the term. However, only through the complete cooperation of my entire staff was this book made possible, therefore, all are deserving of Commendation. Hearty thanks are also extended to Mr. Kerwin. Miss Kenny, Mr. Barrick, and the entire faculty for their aid in obtaining information so necessary to the production of a successful yearbook. And now a word about the Scroll itself. This book is unique in many ways. Its literary material is restricted, but it contains more club pictures than any previous book, it is the largest Scroll ever published, it has more candid photographs than were ever employed before, it contains many more cartoons and drawings than have ever appeared in any preceding edition, and when you first picked this book up, its beautiful cover probably caught your eye. It is my hope that years from today this pictorial record of your high school days will bring you many happy hours of joy and amusement.
