INTRAMURAL SPORTS 9-1 BASKETBALL AND VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONS 8-7 BASKETBALL CHAMPIONS First row: Betty Ann MacDonald, Mary Florence White, Tempe Claxton, Barbara Melton, Second row: Ann Mary Derrick, Mary Elizabeth DeLoach, Mary Eleanor MacRae, Mary Ann Whitaker. Third row: lone Flint, Martha Lita Gibbs, Ar- lene Becker, Rana Morris, Virginia Kirchdorler. Many exciting onlookers were present at the exciting games played by the girls' volleyball teams. The winning team tor the ninth grade was 9-l. This team was captained by lone Flint and co-captoined by Betty Ann MacDonald. lt was an outstanding team and performed excellently. The winning eighth grade team was 8-l, which was captained by Donna Neal and co-captained by Sue Lawson. The winning team lor the seventh grade was 7-4 whose captain was Shirley Flint and co-captain Nancy Ransom. The next tournament ol the season was the basketball tour- nament. The 9-l's were the ninth grade winners, iust as they were in volleyball, making them a doubly outstanding team. They were captained by lone Flint and co-captained by Mary Florence White. The winner in the eighth grade was 8-7, which was captoined by Esther Mae Stuart and co-captained by lane! Green. The winning team ol the seventh grade was 7--t. Martha Lita deleated Marilyn in the linal game, thus making her the ping-pong champion lor the third consecutive year.
