Published By ASSOCIATED STUDENT BODY SNOW COLLEGE, 1960-61 Ephraim, Utah l Change is inevitable in a dynamic society. Seekers for change — growth toward copious living come to a college campus — a citadel fostering purposeful understanding of the old and the continued questing for the new. They themselves will change as they inherit the past, live in the present, and project a future. AW Snow's red-brick building with its native rock foundation and classic facade has become a center of tradition, service, and the spirit of growth. During the years change had added structures of steel and glass — still in classic design but functional to current and future needs in facilities and academic offerings. 4 Change brings each year to the campus a new youthful personnel. They seek that change called education: expanded knowledge and self-discovery, cultured usefulness, socialized attitudes and broadened concepts of life and living; deep ened sensitivity to beauty and spirituality. 6 Preparation for judicious leadership requires understanding of the immediate problem in relationship to the past and present, and a vision of the results of effected change. Sometimes change is retrogressive, sometimes progressive. It may result in regrets or In satisfactions. The direction of change depends upon leaders who plan. 9 PRESIDENT Daryl Chat President Utah State University and its Sranehes Joseph F. Cowley Phillip A. Sullen Dr. Reed W. Farnsworth L. A bright, brisk fall morning, a breakfast plate heaped with good things to eat, and service by a smiling faculty disclosed good things to come. wsp REGISTRATION The seekers-for-change became involved in the tedious process of registration. Decked with pencils and schedules they pondered prospective classes, made choices, and set in motion a formative step in their lives. HOMECOMING Enthusiasm was high as Karma Beal was crowned Homecoming Queen; Sherry Mellor and Lynefte Larsen became her attendants. In the parade, prizes went first to the I.K.'s float, second to the W.A.A. float, and third to the Gold Key float. - 69 UNION BUILDING - • Jjif - With funds from South Pacific and a benefit smorgasbord the student officers established the first functional union building on the Snow camous. When the painting was finished and equipment installed the T.U.B. became the favorite hang-out. MAPLE CANYON Feast-and-fun was the motto of all participants at Maple Canyon outing. The day was complete with hiking, volley ball, program and eats. This time the student officers did the cooking. WINTER FUN A winter without snow, so students trecked to the ice ponds. Frolic on the ice resulted in red noses, bruised shins, cold hands, and ravenous appetites - all soothed by a cup of hot chili. iii Uu PANCAKE PARTY Everyone celebrated basketball victories with pancake parties, sloppy joe parties, and just — parties. The student council had as much fun fixing and preparing the food as the students did eating, dancing and enjoying. 73 Kerry Allred. Karen Cherry, Racma Hank .
