Director J. Elliot Cameron As a member of A Family of Institutions — Utah State Agricultural College and its Branches — Snow College during the past year has realized its new horizons. As an institution of higher education, it has enlarged its professional services to youth and the communities. Under the direct leadership of Director J. Elliot Cameron, who came to the Campus July I, there has been an increased awareness of the traditions that have nurtured this institution and projection of new areas for development. The visits from President Chase, members of the staff from Logan Campus, and members of the Board of Trustees have enriched the local offerings, have built confidences, and have given direction for future attainments. t -10- faculty Doris Larsen Secretary to Director Lee R. During the year, the problems of financing the structure had involved many as sponsors of fund raising projects. Banks, the Non-Profit Corporation, and contributing individuals and groups finally supplemented the authorized Federal loan, so that the contract for the enterprise could be set. It was a great day in the forward march of Snow College. The students of this year rejoiced in the purchase of the site, the clearing of the grounds, and the beginning of the foundation. Some expect to return as the first occupants. -61- Mark Steele Blaine Keller Gary Shurtliff Doneal Thompson Full-Back Full Back Guard Half Back Bob Cox Jay Johnson Don Barney John Davis Half Back Quarter-Back Guard Full-Back -64- 0?ood M Larry Boyer Tackle John Roberts Full-Back Marrion Johnson Center Ronald Creer Full-Back Richard Cahoon Half-Back Vergil Peterson Tackle 65 Blain Bradford Dan Spencer End Center Rolland Robertson Lowell Budge Half-Back End John Bishoff End Dennis Gordon Quarter Back Don Bunker Guard Gene Henry Tackle -66- Clark Osterguard Tackle John Smith Center Darrel Kitchen Bill Tremble Guard End Allen Taylor Darwin Christensen Guard End -67- Lynn Hullinger Center Koze Hallows Guard Roger Utley George Wilkey Guard Forward John Stevens Lowell Budge Center Guard CM CtbzCt Walter Hanks Forward Roger Ditlevsen Forward -69- cte ethzil Lillian Kondo, President; Glenna Warren, Vice-President; Maurine Ivory, Drill Master; Kay Blackett, Sec. ELLIOT CAMERON As another year goes into the pages of the glorious history of Snow College, we have had a most successful time together. In our first year as a strictly collegiate institution we have been constantly amazed at our continued growth. The year has been one of constant challenge and achievement. As you view the pages of this book which has captured a fleeting moment of happiness through photography, we hope you will recall with pride your part in the program of activities and events. Intermixed with the memory of social events you have grown in your capacity to accept the responsibilities of the society in which we live. As Bulwer has said, Books are but waste paper unless we spend in action the wisdom we get from thought. Let's keep a bit of humor in The corner of the mind. It helps to curb the deadly sin of being smug, we'll find; If pokes rare fun at petty pride And little shams we've made By taking common sense aside To see them on parade. It keeps a twinkle in the eye For all the human race, And smiles a little on the sly For showing us our place! -104- 0
