Communications LAMBDA KAI EPSILON The Latin words Lambda Kai Epsilon mean Latin and Spanish. These are the foreign languages offered at Snohomish High School. The purpose of the organization, Lambda Kai Epsilon. is to provide foreign language stu- dents an opportunity to learn about other peo- ple of the world and their cultures. This year's activities were begun with the election of officers. These were: Mary Lee Pettibone, president, Ric Odegard, vice-presi- clent, Ann Uran, secretary, and Lary Kaiser, treasurer. Judy Riley was appointed enter- tainment chairman. A group of students interested in dramatics formed a theatrical association within Lambda Kai Epsilon. They called it the Circle Theater and for the organization's annual Christmas Party they put on a play. It was the Spanish version of Cinderella and the dialogue was in Spanish. At the January meeting a native of Austral- ia, Mrs. Margaret Stevenson, qave a talk on the Australian aborigines and their culture. She spoke of the present Australians, their customs, schools, social interests, and attitude toward Americans. February 18 the Circle Theater made it's second and third appearances. This time the play given at the Christmas Party was given for the students of Central and Emerson Grade Schools. On February 25 members of Lambda kai Epsilon went to Brown's Theater in Snohom- ish to see the Italian film, Wages of Fear. The annual banquet was held April 22, bringing to a climax a very successful year. G50 '55, 11 u...
