Hrstory of the Class of I943 Upon lookrng back on our hrgh school years we the clrss of 42 adnrrt that we too were once a group of Innocent and awe struck fresh nren dorng our best to keep from slrdrng on the shrny floors of our new hrgh school burltlrng We soon became acquarnted wrth our new teachers and classmates and elected Bob Gay presrdent of our class Don Crrlson yrce presrdent and Harold Puckett secretary completed the Fobes dyn asty Barbara Frxen put forth her dramatrc abrlrty and represented our clrss rn. the rll school play Tonr Sawyer Several of the boys showed outstanrdrng abrlrty rn such sports as terrrrrs baseball rnd baskefbrll We had many hopes of achreyrng some outstandrng success but sonrrhow the year passed and we found our freshman year completed As all rmportant sophorr ores we selected Than Bryant for presrdent Fl Roslefske vrce pre rdent rnd the grrls frnally won out wrth Rrth Boswell for secretary By the may George vxhat drd happen between you and Mrss Stewarto Our socral lrfe frnally cleyeloped and a skatrng party wrs planned under the able leatlershrp of Ced Tuohy From all reports rt was r great success and outstandrng fr rendshrps such rs the Spurrell Roslefske one emerged Our class prospered greatly by the atlyent of Pete Hrsken from Lrncoln Hrgh School Seattle thrs year We vsere well represented rn sports wrth Brll Walsh anl Bernre Ayerrll earnrng therr letters rn ten nrs and basketball respectryely Bernre was also a member of the Drs trrct Ch rmpronshrp basketball team of 41 In our Junror year we selected Ed Roslefskt for pre rdent Bob treasurer Lors Nelson surprrsed the whole school as e lrtor of the Arrow head rn her Junror year Class meetrngs proyed to be rrotous affarrs Mr Moore hoxxeyer was usually able to quret them down long enough to get some busrncss completed We selected our class Jewelry early rn the sprrng md suc ceeded rn obtarnrng a small profrt for our treasury We showed our patrr otrsm by abandonrng a costly Junror Prom for a more practrcal banquet Dorothy Wrlkrnson was elected charr man for the affarr rnd wrth the help of her yarrous commrttees made our banquet an outstrndrng success We mrssed Vlr 'Vloores story about the horse and cow whrch was usually told to the penrtent Junrors after therr attempt for a Junror Sneak All rn all rt was a successful year and we looked wrth antrcrprtron to ward an eventful senror vear Our hopes for the largest class to graduate from Snohomrsh Hrgh School faded svurftly as many of our classmates enlrsted rn the servrce or were at work rn some war Job We trred however' to make up for thrs loss by our achrevments After' much plannrng schemrng and hrgh pressure salesmanshrp we frnally obtrrned an annual rather than the custom rry memory book We sponsored an assemblv for the annual and rarsed enough funds to make up for the lack of subscrrptrons Shrrley Merrrtt was rn charge of thrs assembly Joe Stecher was selected edrtor and Rerta Lyntle assrst ant edrtor Our class offrcers were Ced Tuohy presrdent Dorothv Wrl krnson yrce presrdent Than Bryant secretary and Freda.
