Snead's enrollment has increased from 272 to 882 since Dr. McCain has been president. The curriculum has been broad- ened to include courses in art, French, ballet and ceramics. A language lab and closed circuit T.V. have been added to the in- structional program. Numerous off-campus classes have been organized throughout the area served by Snead, and Saturday classes have been added. Courses in nursing and law enforce- ment are also being planned. Golf, baseball, and tennis have been added to the inter-collegiate athletic program, and a stu- dent band has been organized. Under Dr. McCain's leadership, Snead has accumulated 360,000.00 worth of adiacent property to allow for expansion. An all-campus development plan includes a gymnasium and na- tatorium and new library center. The old library is to be con- verted into a Fine Arts building. The old gymnasium will be renovated as a student center. Numerous improvements are evident throughout the campus: Maple trees, pine trees, and flowering shrubs have been plant- ed, four regulation all-weather tennis courts and two paved vol- leyball courts have been built, the administration building has been fully carpeted, the auditorium has been renovated, and a fire proof vault for records has been installed. An outstanding leader, Dr. McCain is presently serving as President of the Boaz United Givers Fund. He is also on the Pro' grams Committee of the Civitan Club, the Chamber of Com- merce Education Committee, and the Marshall County Red Cross Blood Program. He is listed in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Methodism, Who's Who in Education, and Who's Who in the South and Southwest. .--. -44 - . 1. L .. ,Ml ..,h..
