Ima Mater E FOREWORD The major aim of Snead College is to provide a liberal education under Christian in- fluences. An endeavor is made to instill mental and moral discipline as well as to provide academic background. I-lowever, Snead recognizes the importance of providing sound prepa- ration for further college work or for vocations, and offers programs of study in eighteen dif- ferent fields. Founded as a little mission school at the turn of the century, Snead later became the John I-I. Snead Seminary, one of Alabama's most outstanding secondary schools.
