SEAT- ED, left ro right: Christine Sharp, secretary: Mr. Williams, advisor, Dick Price, president, and Robert Hurd, vice-president. The General Organization has had a successful, useful, and active year. Fall ushered in the Halloween season and with it the Halloween Party and the Football Dance which honored the undefeated football team. Yuletide brought with it the Junior High School Christmas Party and the Senior High School Dance. February, even though short, was an active month for the G.O.g it played host to the Kent County Stu- dent Council at the Valentine Dance and managed a vigorous campaign for the election of new officers. Spring climaxed the General Organization year with the Spring Party and Dance. Charlotte Pryor, Junior at- tendant. Spring brings many special events to Smyrna High School. The May day festivities is one of these gala affairs. Staged by the physical education department and G.O., the festivi - ties last year had a theme Showtime U.S.A ,which was por- trayed by the students in their dancing, stunts, tumbling and other activities. Featured were the May Queen, Janis Dixon, King, Robert Reed, and their court who enjoyed watching the entertainers as they performed. The highlight of the perform- ance was the crowning of the king and queen who had been chosen by the junior and senior high school. The pastels worn by the court, the artistic backgrounds, the brilliant colors of the costumes, the vivacity of the music, and the en- thusiasm of the participants all blended together to present a gay entertaining occasion.
