The win was the first of the season for Smyer in District 2' competition and the first game ever played on the Smyer field. i The host team jumped into a' 19 to 0 lead at the end of the first quarter. led 27 to 6 at the half and upped the count to 33 Smyer In 54-29 Fray NEW HOME, Oct. 17 tSpecia1l- New Home moved 70 yards on three plays for the winning touchdown here tonight, beating Smyer 54-49 in a District 2-B Six Man football game. There were only seconds remain- ing when Sam Keith took a lateral pass from Darrell Fletcher, after Fletcher had grabbed an aerial to 6 at the end of the third per-- md I Touchdowns scored for Smyer were by Charles Willis, Joaquin Jackson 2, and Leroy Schulle 3. Jackson paced the Smyer line- men, Alton Thomasson and Schulle were the outstanding backs from his quarteback, Tilman Carty. Fletcher. aided by great down- Hall Scores Four TDs PETTIT, Oct. 2. tSpeciall Pettit swarmed all over Smyer 70-45 here tonight in a District 2-B conference six-man football game. Fullback Jon Hall made four of the touchdovims on runs of 15, 10, 20 and 40 yards. End Charles Ivey made three scores on passes from Quarterback Bill Price for gains of 30 and 35 yards. Harold King, left end, caught another one of Price's passes for two yards and the score, The other Pettit score came on a five yard run by Half- back Bryon Wilson. Price kicked three points after touchdowns. Fullback Leroy Schulle scored three Smyers scores on runs of 35, 20 and 40 yards. He also added two extra points.
