Our junior year began with two new members — Ruth Hudson and Aquillan Rentz. Aquillan moved away before the end of the year. Kathryn MacDonald moved to Beaumont, Texas and Bobby Breland quit school. Cupid was the cause of another loss — Helen Delong. The entire year was spent in raising money for cur Washington trip. However, our goal was finally achieved and we spent a glorious week in Washington. Miss Barbara Hackney, Miss Rose Mary Varn, Mrs. C. B. Polk, Mrs. Helen Farrell, Mr. C. E. Strick- land, Mr. Floyd Beach, and Mr. Lee Campbell were our instructors. Our senior year finds us minus Bertie Mae Crosby and Ruth Hudson. Ruth is going to Walterboro school. We have sixteen members — Kirby Bunton, Dorothy Garris, Charles Henry Gooding, Darwin Kinard, Mildred Kinard, Walker Lyons, Betty Myers, Frances Myers, Miriam Robertson, David Strickland, Ronald Strickland, Ronald Myers, Clare Thomas, Norman Spell, Mary Jo Williams, and Nancy Williams — left to graduate on June 1, 1951. WE'RE THE GRADUATING SENIORS! Through the musty halls of Old Smoaks High There resounds a long, exultant cry, Look out, old world, we're going by, We're the graduating seniors!
