SMITHEREENS The Junior High basketball team consisted of seventh and eighth graders this year. The members of the seventh grade were Jack Snoddy, Gene Kauffman, John- ny Schrock, Ronnie Singer, and Roger Ramseyer. The eighth grade boys are Marvin Jensen, Dale Horst, Stan Troxel, Harry Bog- ner, and Floyd Martie. Mr. Krohe, coach, had the seventh grade boys on the team to gain experience for them. The team was the smallest and shortest in the county although they' won their share of games. Next year they should win mo-re. T om Burkholder Secretary ,..,,........ ............ ..,........ N ancy Lytle The Student Council has been the foremost method of student control in the high school. It deals with problems of activity regulation, student discipline, and general student administration relations. Each of the five classes in the high school building are represented in this governing body by a boy and girl. Thus, with the president, the Council has eleven members. Mr. Berkey serves faithfully as faculty advisor. The meetings have been held weekly and the many discussions were informal. One of our main projects of the year was to finance a worthy student in Europe. Through the co-operation of other schools we were able to provide programs for the home basketball games. The Council sponsored a box social, which is not only considered one of the top social events of the year, but also helps us financial- ly. ' twenty-eight
