SOPHOMCRE CLASS The class of '52 with an enrollment of 51 members entered the portals of S.H.S. and started their Sophomore year with Miss Porter as their ad- visor. Tom Bowman Our social events of the year included an initiation in October and an ice-skat- ing party in February. We chose our class colors as blue and white. We were thrilled greatly when our sweaters arrived in the middle of December. We were fortunate to have the reserve cheerleaders from our class. They were Ruth Donaldson, Mary Burkholder, and Sara Burkholder, Also, we had four mem- bers of the class on the varsity squad-Dick Hahn, Roger Johnson, Frank Carney, and Carl Beichler. On the reserve team, we had Darrel Schrock and Ronnie Fike. Our projects for the year were selling pencils with the basketball schedule on them. In October, we sponsored a bake sale. We feel that we have had a very successful year. twenty-three

Per- haps the greatest events were when we received our class sweaters and rings. Also, we had a roller-skating party at Medina on March 20, along with several other class parties, our Junior Class Play, and our last, but not least, the annual Junior-Senior Banquet held at Smithville Inn on May 6.
