Class Hlstory The Senlor Class hlstory started 1n the fall of 1943 From the very moment these tots burst 1nto the classroom everyone knew th1s was to be the semors of the future Sk1pp1ng from that t1me to when they entered h1gh school some st11l rema1n from that klndergarten class Those stlll rema1n1ng are Susan Chrlstman R1chard Hagerdon Edwln Johnson and Kay Bru1ns Added to th1s 11st are Bob Woodward Perry Uhl Dave Conyers Esther Hackett Everett Hackett Margaret Myrtue Beverly Morr1s Mae Mar1e Lwermore Gary Manson Kenny Prlchard Sh1r1ey Struble Dolph1n Rye Ed Dav1s George Dav1s Phyllss Ba1nbr1dge Swanna Moeller and Patty Ir1sh Dur1ng the freshman year we lost Dolph1n Ed Swanna and Patty The freshmen started w1th 1n1t1at1on by the sophomores We later held a return party for the sophomores w1th movles and lunch At the end of the year We found that we had all been able to enter our sophomore year In our sophomore year we started r1ght off by 1n1t1at1ng the freshmen Dur1ng the year we held several h1gh school part1es Our class remamed together durlng the sophomore year All of us moved 1nto our jumor year one step closer to graduat1on The jun1or year proved to be a busy year w1th the order1ng of our class rlngs the rehears1ng of class play and the plann1ng of our .Tumor Sen1or Banquet Our class rmgs were all xdentlcal Our class play ZEKE AND DAISY was sponsored by Mrs Woods Our Jun1or Semor Banquet was fash1oned after the theme Starl1ght wh1ch conslsted of navy blue star Spangled streamers Dlnner took place 1n the Settlng of a Penthouse After the d1nner everyone enjoyed and danced to the mus1c of Johnny Galv1n Later the Junlors met 1n S1oux Clty and dlned Dur1ng the Jumor year we lost Sh1rley Struble AT LAST The year has come when we w1ll leave the Student Body of Sm1thland Hlgh Th1s last year has seemed short even though we have accomphshed many th1ngs Dur1ng the year we had our plctures taken at Genell1's 1n S1OLLX C1ty We ate d1nner shopped and came home to f1n1sh the school day On March 25 we presented a play BOOKS AND CROOKS wh1ch was sponsored by M1ss Beam On Aprll 2 we attended Career Day at Cl1mb1ng H111 where we part1c1pated 1n round table d1scuss1ons On our Sklp Day we V1S1t6d many 1nterest1ng places 1U Omaha and L1ncoln Neb Everyone enjoyed h1mself very much We enjoyed the banquet the .Tun1ors had for us very much We w1sh to express our apprec1at1on to the teachers who have contrlbuted 1n mak1ng our graduatlon pos s1ble 1 O , .
