Administration To the Class of 1955: Twelve years of your formal training in education have passed. It was climaxed by commencement and now the community recognizes you as high school graduates. With diploma in hand. and equipped with the best knowledge your school can give, you stand ready to assume your responsibility in an ever changing world. lligh school has been an interesting experience. You have learned to live. work and play together as a group. And individually you have developed in character. personality. and ability. ln attaining your education you have also given a great deal to your school and community in scholarship. in athletics. in dramatics and other activities. Your class and previous classes have done your tasks well and we praise you highly for it. What you have thus far accomplished is only a prelude to what must yet be done. llistory records for us an interesting incident of Napoleon and one of his Marshals. The Marshal sought an audience with Napoleon to boast about a great victory he had won. At length he talked to his chief, giving in detail the brilliant strategy he used to defeat the enemy. Of course. what he wanted, what he expected. perhaps what he deserved. was praise. Napolon-deep, quiet, sternflistened atten- tively and patiently to the entire recitation. But then in place of praising the soldier. Napoleon asked him one question. The question was, What did you do the next day? Here was a man who realized. as all of us must, that there never is a time when anyone can be content to rest on his laurels. and that the time to prepare for new victories is at the moment when victory is over. This then must be your course. Use your high school training of today to endeavor to solve the complex problems of an uncertain world of tomorrow. MILES F. RAKER. Superz'ising Principal
