Dedication We, the Class of 1953, dedicate this Annual to Miss Edna Mae Etzrodt in sincere appreciation for her devoted interest toward the publication ot this Smithsonian. Many long hours of untiring endeavor have been expended by Miss Etzrodt in assuring the success of this Book-hours which we trust were not unrewarding in gratitude, nor tedious in actuality. It is not only for her labors on our behalf that she merits this tribute fthough they were many and ettective,l but also for the innumerable quali- ties and characteristics which are indicative of Miss Etzrodt's high calibre as a teacher in the truest sense of the Word. When We wearied and grew dis- couraged with the tasks demanded of us in regard to the Annual, she cheered us on with her dynamic courage. Under her guidance We have achieved our goal. In the classroom she has instructed us, imparting not only the knowl- edge in her field, but that degree of integrity in her personality which trans- cends all latitudes ot informative matter. Inside or ouside the classroom Miss Etzrodt has personified the ideals which are expressed in the following poem. DEEDS OF TODAY The only time we have to use is furnished by today: We must not Waste while moments flee, for time does not delay. The hours of day are given once, so We must be prepared To use our talents for the best, no effort must be spared. When door of day is closed by night, and darkness hides the sun, We then may count the pleasures gained from deeds which were well done. -Everett W. Hill.
