French classes take imaginary tours of France via books, maps, guides, and library materials. Records and tapes are used to help the student with his pronunciation. Daily drills in conjugations and vocabulary are stressed. Excerpts from French history, modern life in France, and purely fictitious stories await translation by second year students. Now you know the answer to that one ! Foreign Languages MR. S. C. WOODARD A.B. University of North Carolina Latin 14 Of course 1 can ' t read it, silly. I look at the pictures. Freshmen and sophomores burn the midnight oil in preparation of Mr. Woodard ' s Latin assignments. Physical Education and Health When do we take off? Students in their Freshman year of High School really learn what it means to be physically fit. They do calisthentic and learn how to play numerous games. We are fortunate to have Mrs. Price added to our faculty as the girls gym director. She has done much to improve this course and has added several intramural games. In health, they learn how to build up their physical well-being.
