We y :r T remember that year, not ; M ; only for its growth and prog- ress, but as a busy year, full of V : ■ activities: Monday mornings full of hellos, lengthy cafeteria lines, laugh- ter, simple courtesies, and tears ... 1959, the year of the Big Snow and the long unexpected Christmas vacation; the year of our Homecoming Mardi Gras celebra- tion; the year the juniors introduced us to that fascinating character Harvey ; the year the sen- iors waited patiently with empty fingers for the long lost class rings; the final football game with Roxboro; and College Entrance Exams. . . . We remember those bewil- dered freshmen as they stepped to take their places in our school plus the sales-minded sophomores, enthusiastic in their ■ ' , annual magazine campaign; the competent juniors maturing and eager to do their part; and the seniors at the top of the ladder looking down with memories and regrets. We remember the to- getherness between a tireless faculty and the student body pul- sating with dreams and ambitions ...
