Introduction The Senior Class of Smithfield High School presents the theme of the 1965 Annual, Through the Years, in an effort to preserve the past heritage of our community and to provide inspiration for future endeavor. Students rapidly go through four years of academic and social preparation without adequate consideration for our local historical landmarks. Perhaps our very heritage prevents us from lingering on our past glories and instills a desire to surpass the ' achievements of our ancestors. Glory, however,' must never be forgotten, but em- ployed as inspiration for the accomplishment of goals, Through the years of high school we have strived diligently to develop mentally, socially, and morally in a manner of which our forefathers would be proud. We, the graduating class, bequeath the contents of our yearbook to all successive classes with the hope that it will add to the heritage of Smithfield High School. l 3
