Seaton, O tceno Langhome Burnett, President; Dolly Murphy, Vice-President; Beretta Yeoman, Secretary; Joe Luter, Treasurer. ' ZfC tovf It seems such a short while since we, the Class of 57’, were happily making the rounds of slides, see-saws, and merry-go-rounds, then trudging home after school with skinned knees, muddy shoes, and torn sashes. Those first years of Dick and Jane and simple arithmetic flew by, and soon we found ourselves high in the elementary grades, and looking up to the high-school students with worshipful eyes. The wonderful September day finally arrived when we became full-fledged Freshmen. We must have looked awkward and completely lost, but we were much too proud to notice thatl The year was filled with Latin, Alge- bra, and lots of fun. As sophomores we looked haughtily down at the Freshmen, and wondered if we could possibly have been so noisy and silly. Our Junior year ushered in excited plans for the Prom, and frantic last minute preparations to get things ready. We think we succeeded in creating the perfect Evening in Paris. Then , at last, it was our turn to take over the coveted role of Seniors. This has been the busiest year of all, filled with much planning for term papers. Senior plays, the long awaited Washington trip, and finally graduation. Though we’ve done our share of complaining about book reports, what we term excessive homework, and those inevitable detention hall slips, we look back upon these last twelve years with fondest memories, which time can never erase. To those who walk the halls of Smithfield after us, we say, uphold her standards with loyalty, pride, and honor.
