Our basic objective was to provide a learning place where you would receive occupational training, academic education and academic enrichment which would assist you in developing your personal philosophies and contribute to your becoming happier and more productive members of society. This philosophy is in keeping with the concept of vocational-technical education which stresses total development of the person. Your director, other members of the administration and faculty, sincerely hope that we have not failed. We want you to keep, deep in your hearts, the wonderful memories of your school-life and we wish you every success in the future . B. Stanley Dowgert, Director 5 5 M 5315? N16 HN D'- This day is done and darkness falls from the wings of night, as a feather is wafted downward from an eagle in his flightf' - Henry Wadsworth Longfellow With the completion of the 1971 Viking, I wish to thank the yearbook advisors David Ludlam and Larry I-Iallin for all their time and patience. I would also like to thank the many students who helped put this yearbook together. We have tried to enter evei-yone's picture and have it labled in the Viking at least once. We put four seniors on a page, with a few lines of wisdom under each. Instead of full page pictures, we have placed half page pictures. We have entered quotations of literature throughout the book. We have also added write ups under all shops, organizations and sports to add new life in the yearbook. In conclusion, I would like to hope that the 1971 Viking will be a great success and again would like to thank everyone who cooperated. Sincerely, William D.
