The Science Club was designed to provide enrichment for those interested in science. People at Smith-Hale are in- terested in science. Mrs. Calton, one of the sponsors, said that an average of for- ty people had attended the meetings. I am pleased this year, reported Mrs. Calton. We have a large and active group. Activities this year included election of officers, annual Christmas pizza par- ty, participation in the Great American Smokeout where the club sent out heli- um balloons which were intended to stop people from smoking. Mr. Ham, our principal, was the only one to receive a reply to a balloon he sent out. A night under the stars is planned to observe Halley's Comet and other astrological figures.
