On September 11, the sophomore class held their first class meeting at Smith Academy. Mrs. Spakowski was appointed as their class advisor. Thomas Wic- kles was elected president, and was assisted by vice-president Richard Bur- rington. George Vachula was elected treasurer, and Brenda Malinowski filled the post of secretary. The class was rep- resented in the Student Council by Wil- liam Osley and Carol Vachula. The sophomores held their dance on November 19, with Jimmy Labbee as disc jockey. Linda Maslanka and Wil- liam Donnis represented the class in the Student Council. Mr. Richard Nadolny served as class advisor. Linda Burnickas won the American Le- gion Oratorical Contest. Harriet Belden was chosen to attend Girls ' State. The class held two dances and sold candy to make their junior year a suc- cessful one financially. The Junior Class Prom, In the Misty Moonlight, was held on Saturday, May 28, at the Hotel Northampton in the Coachlight Room.
