€j fi tor ' s foe iter Now that you have received your 1961 edition of The Echo, I sincerely hope that it will serve as a lucid and concise record of the past year. It should also serve, I believe, as an example of the ability of the students of Smith Academy. This year we have continued the use of hard covers on our yearbook as it is our feeling that this type of book may provide a permanent record of the school year. I would like to thank all the members of the staff who have worked so diligently in order to make this yearbook a success, especially the staff of editors who have devoted much of their time and effort. Dec icajfion We, the Senior Class of 1961, are honored to dedicate our yearbook, The Echo, to Mrs. Margaret P. Pruzynski, who merits our respect and admiration as our teacher and class advisor. During our four years at Smith Academy, we have been guided by her wise counsel and encouraged by her undiminishing faith in us. We only hope that we may at some time help others as she has helped us. Therefore it is with deepest gratitude that we dedicate this yearbook to you so that it may be a lasting memorial to your insight and integrity.
