His last words were, Oh no — it’s Todd and Wendy!” Z CLASS FLIRTS: Here they come, those irresistable flirts, Pat Gregory and Chris Walker. Be careful not to take them seriously, though, they wink at EVERYONE! 28 CLASS ATHLETES: Ready for their tough games are Bruce Tessena and Sue Ball. Hard work is what it's all about, and these two show dedica- tion and determination in all of their sporting activities. Go for the gold, you guys! CLASS ARTISTS: In the art room are Beth Picasso Younkins and Bob “Dc Vince Patrick! Years from now, don't be surprised if you buy a bumper sticker mas- terpiece designed by the great “B and B”! 29 MOST SCHOOL SPIRIT: “Two-four-six-eight! Who do we appreciate?” If you go to a pep rally, you'll see that it’s Janice Benjamin and Mike Fransko, cheering the Hubs on to victory! GO TEAM GO! BEST DRESSED: Brad Buchholz and Stacy Eley are the “fashion plates” of the Senior class. Wanna know what to wear on that special date? Give Stacy or Brad a ring! TALLEST BOY SHORTEST GIRL: Here we have Theresa German and Ray Deegan. Where most people see “eye-to-eye” on topics, these two see “eye- to- elbow” on everything! 30 CLASS SWEETHEARTS: Remember their freshman year when people had to “force Donna Nogar and Paul Rossi to hold hands? Well, look at them now! — “I Wanna Hold Your Hand! — BEST PERSONALITY: Need a friend or a shoulder to cry on? Look for Jeff Zuver or Leslie Moffett. They're always around to lend an ear! 31 MOST TALKATIVE: As usual, Rick Scherer is rambling away on the phone! “Wait a minute,” says Kelly Ferman, “Let me talk too! Will these two ever learn to be quiet?!! TALLEST GIRL SHORTEST BOY: Towering above Matt Carney is Malinda Lydic in this picture. If Malinda wants to hide something from Matt, it’s no problem — up on the top shelf it goes! BEST LOOKING: Hearts flutter and pulses race when Troy Kleisath and Shannon Ammerman walk into a room! Watch out for the class of '88’s best looking duo — one glance and you may go weak in the knees! 32 CLASS TROUBLE MAKERS: Sent to the office again are Brad Frontino and Missy Cummings. Brad tells us, “But I only got up to sharpen my pencil! Honest! But Missy’s story is different — Right Brad! I shar- pened my pencil! YOU threw the spit wad! CLASS CLOWNS: Climbing the cage like a couple of mon- keys are Will Rounsville, and Sue Wilber. These two jokers could even cheer you up after you flunked that important test! Then again ... 33 CONTRIBUTED THE MOST: A big THANK YOU goes out to Mark Russell and Heidi Burritt who have contributed a lot of time and effort on many class projects to help make the Class of “88” the success it is today. MOST LIKELY TO SUCCEED: Watch out corporate world Amy Wilson and Brady Semmel are on their way up! Wall Street will never be the same again. Maybe for a class reunion these two will put their millions of dollars together and take us all on a cruise around the world. 34 MOST MUSICAL: On the flute is Cindi Edgar, and on the trombone is Bill Parris. Mozart and Boch are quite proud to have these two play his music. Many conductors are battling to get these two to join their symphonies. But we think Cindi and Bill would rather play something along the line of Dokken or Motley Crue. CLASS PETS: Always bring apples to their teachers are Rae Ann Kliesath and Craig Burdick. These two can always sweet talk any of their teachers. If your having a problem getting brownie points with a teacher send Rae and Craig to put in a good word for you. MYSTERY BABY: Speaking of Who's Who, does anyone know WHO this is?! The yearbook staff has been straining their brains and still does not know the identity of . .. THE UNKNOWN SENIOR! 35 36 Donna Nogar Here are the Seniors When we were small, When we wore diapers And learned how to crawl Now we are older And stand on our own. Most of all, we would like to give a special thanks to our very dedicated advisor, Mr. Clark Johnson. Mr. Johnson took over the yearbook in the middle of the year, and we feel he did an excellent job. We hope everyone will enjoy this year's NUNUNDAH, and we hope it will bring back many pleasant memories of the 1987-1988 school year. The class of'88 will leave SAHS with many memories of the fun we have had during our six-year stay here. Together we have faced hardships, goodtimes, and disappointments amongst ourselves, but wc will always be bound together by bonds of love and friendship. We will always remember the helpful and understanding faculty with whom we’ve developed a close friendship. We sincerely hope that all the future graduating classes of Smethport leave with as many high hopes and memories as we have. Good luck to all future graduates. Thank you, Mark Russell, Co-editor Kathi Seymour, Co-editor Mark Fetter, Business Manager Also a very special thanks goes out to Kelly Caldwell and Amber Carlson who arc not pictured, but put a lot of hard work into this yearbook. The seniors would like to thank Mr. Fitzsim- mons, the chairpersons, and everyone who helped to make “Enchantment Under The Sea” the best prom ever!!! 159 BELIEVE IN YOURSELF To Believe in Yourself, is the hardest thing to do. It can leave you feeling happy, and it can leave you feeling blue. Just when you think you have it, holding it right in your hand and heart. Something might let you down. Then the belief starts to fall apart. When you're to the point of not caring it all just seems to end. Look deep inside of yourself. And try to make ammends. Finding yourself is very difficult, but it's something that’s got to be done. Believing in yourself always, will leave you number one. JANICE L. BENJAMIN Feb. 16, 1988. CLASS OF '88 Graduation day is approaching; Our final high school days are here. As we look back on the memories From each eye trickles a tear. The first time we came together Was in the fall of '81 — At sixth grade camp, friends were made, In the midst of the laughter and fun. Over these past few years of growth Those friendships have burned bright; Years from now, in the backs of our minds. They will appear as a glowing light. Class reunions will come upon us And each of us will then be great. And although we may drift apart Forever we'll be the CLASS OF '88. HEATHER NICOLE MURPHY □□□ □□□ □□□ We've changed through the years our lives have grown in ways we could never have expect- ed, reaching out in directions that sometimes are surpris- ing ... But I'm always aware that as my world changes, so, too, does yours, and even though we’re al- ways changing, you’re still the same special friend who means so much to me And I'm so grateful that you are! 1 just have to laugh when I think of some of the crazy things we’ve done together — And they wouldn't have been half the fun with anyone else but you! I love to look back at those times, and to all the moments spent with you ... even the difficult times that we helped each other through. I wouldn’t trade even one of those memories for anything in the world, because they’re so much a part of my life ... Please do not grieve And shed wild tears. But start out bravely With a gallant smile; And for my sake And in my name Live on and do All things the same Feel not your loneliness On empty days. But fill each waking hour In useful ways. Reach out your hand in comfort and in cheer And I in turn will comfort you And hold you near; And never, never Be afraid to die.
