They were as follows: Executive Committee: The officers and Chairmen of the standing committees. Constitution Committee: Tom Abbey, Chair- man. Money-Raising Committee: Gail Guenter, Chairman. Dance Committee: Linda Cutting, Chairman. Assembly Committee: Marcia Johnson, Chairman. Entertainment Committee: Joseph Newhouse and Lois Moran, Co-Chairmen. Christmas and Thanksgiving baskets were distributed this year, also. We feel that this year's Student Council did more good for our school than any student council preceding it. SENIOR OFFICERS The time in our life we seniors have been waiting for has finally arrived. We are seniors and as we look back over these past four years we begin to recall those things we, as a class, have done together. Our freshman year we spent getting acquainted with the school and each other. Our sophomore year found us excitedly planning and holding our Sadie Hawkins Day Dance, the most successful ever held in this school. This was also the first year we had representatives in the Varsity sports. As juniors we received our long awaited class rings, and we gave the Junior-Senior Prom. Our theme was Rendezvous With the Stars and we were very pleased with the re- sults. Now, in our senior year, we find that we have held our senior play, Almost Sum- mer, sold Christmas Candles and magazines, are looking forward to holding the Holi- day Ball, Twerp Day and the Twerp Dance, going on our trip to New York, and finally our graduation. We elected as our class officers for this final year: President, Charles Johnson, Vice- President, John Recny, Secretary, Georganne Wright, and Treasurer, Linda Cutting. John Hummel is the Student Council President, and our representatives to this are: Jo Ellen Brown, Linda Cutting, Charles Johnson, and Marcia Johnson. Seated: Peg O'Brien, Secretary, Courtney Gustafson, Vice-President: Gail Guenter, Treasurer The first few days of our freshman year were very exciting. We were shy, self-conscious freshmen making new friends and planning for the many things we hoped to do that year. We started the practice of holding record dances after home basket- ball games on Friday nights. They were all a suc- cess. At our first home-room meeting we elected these officers: President, Tom Abbey, Vice-President, Courtney Gustafson, Secretary, Peg O'Brien, Trea- surer, Lois Moran, As Sophomores we entered our first year in Senior High-77 of us. We were represented by 13 boys on the football squad, ll boys on the bas- ketball team, 7 girls on the cheerleading squad, and several point winners on the track team. Gail Guenter, Gini Gosney, Fred Lasher, and Joe New- house represented our class in Student Council for the first half term. Class officers were: President, Tom Abbey, Vice-President, Courtney Gustafson, Secretary, Peg O'Brien, Treasurer, David Rumsey. We chose our class colors - blue and white. As our outstanding event of the year we sponsored the an- nual Sadie Hawkins Dance. Cecilia Rosenswie rep- resented us as the sophomore Home Coming Attend- ant. Now we are Juniors - 67 of us. We have held many record dances this year and are making plans for the Junior-Senior Prom to be held in May. We were represented by 21 boys on the football team, 'IO boys on the basketball team, 5 girls on the cheer- leading squad, and many point winners on the track team. We were honored by having the Varsity basketball team first string consisting of all Juniors. We were also the first class to order our class rings in our sophomore year and then receive them at the very beginning of our iunior year. Peggy O'Brien represented us as the Home Coming attendant. Class advisors were Miss Johnson, and Mr. Stone. When we first entered school in our Freshman year in September of 1957, we felt like real underclassmenf' That changed later as we became familiar with each other. In our Freshman year we were represented on Student Council by Nancy Connor, Bonnie Petruzzi, Dianne Haynes, and Bill Vandervort. Our class officers were: Gary Wright, President, Nancy Morrison, Vice-President, Nancy Placer, Secretary-Treasurer. We held many record dances, had a Christmas party, and went to Allegheny State Park at the end of the year, for our outstanding events of the year. ln our Sophomore year so far, our outstanding dance was the Sadie Hawkins Dance, held on November 14, 1958. We had a very nice band, The Jelly Ramblers, and the dance as a whole was a success. Our representatives for the first half year to Student Council were: Nancy Morrison, Bonnie Petruzzi, Muriel Young, and George McCord. Our Class Officers were Roger Wright, President, Joe Comes, Vice-President, and Nancy Placer, Secretary-Treasurer. We hope that in our remaining years at S.H.S. we will be able to be regarded as a help to our school. ,ffl Bob Armstrong Helen Austin yay' X Judy Austin -' , ' Vfywiw ,amp r ,, 4, 'ww fwfavv A vga .' , J f it M W f Zin Q, M v Vffbrfff gggfQ,f 4 xi, ,, ,, ' ry, VX, Zigi: 1 ,Mn iiifiifff Q ' 'Viz A f ZZ V ,sw-, vi sf jg x.
