GLARNER The Student Council has played an active part inthe functions of Smethport High School for the past seven years. lt was created in 1949 under the advisership of Mr. Rugh. Mr. Glarner became adviser in 1952 and has held that position ever since. Under the leadership of Jackie Green, our first lady president, the following accomplishments were made: Some members of the Port Allegany football squad were invited to visit our school the day before the game in an effort to create better sportsmanship between the two schoolsg a new assembly ticket system was set upg name-plates were ordered for last year's president, George Shireyg and hall plaques were chosen for last year's valedictorian and salutatorianp an efficient guide and information system was set up for visitors' nightp and paid assemblies were ordered for next year. We would like to thank all those who have in any way helped to make our school better through Student Government. We would like especiallyto thank Mr. Glarner for putting forth so much effort in making this year's Council a successful one.
