The women finished third in the division at 5-5 and 7-15 overall, but won eight of their last 12 games, which showed great improvement. Along with the small number of returning players, Coach Rickey Walton and her team had to overcome the obstacles posed by the loss of All-American Diane Walker, (now playing professionally in Europe) and a grueling first-half schedule, which had the Rock playing 12 of its first 14 games on opponent's courts. Tina Moynihan had a fantastic season with her school record 40 points against Bloomsburg, and as leading scorer of the season.
