This year's team was led by Ion Paul Albitz who showed competency in the high and low hurdles, the loo yard dash, the high jump, and the broad jump. Other outstanding performers were Walt Esser and Dave Jessel in the pole vault, and Ken Hildebran in the 440 yard dash and mile relay. Record-breaker, Walt Esser, easily clears II 6 ' VA 2' . Navy Band The Navy sailed into Slippery Rock on April 8 and Won a decisive victory. In an afternoon matinee, high school groups from this area discovered the versatility of the U. S. Navy Band. That evening, the band again demonstrated that charac- teristic to a capacity college audience. The unusualness of the program with its Her- ald Trumpets and the English Post Horn, as well as a display of musical ability, pro- vided the students with another of the fine assembly programs of this year.
