Those stars changed into lights which encircled the Duquesne Gardens in Pitts- burgh. Gliding gracefully across the ice was Mary Lou Shoup, who was stealing the show with her outstanding feat in the Ice Capades. The lights began to fade but suddenly grew brighter revealing a man with a Microphone. Lo, it was Ray Courson, the politician of the class. I knew Ray had gone into radio announcing for N. B. C. This evening he was telling about the debut of a night club star in Paris. The scene changed as he talked, and I saw an old friend of mine, Lois Wonderling, who had been a nurse for several years. Lois looked very beautiful and proved to be an accomplished singer. Between the acts there was a floor show to entertain the guests A striking young redhead among the ballet dancers attracted my attention She was without a doubt the best dancer on the floor I nearly fell from my chair when the face became plainer and I saw that it was DeRose Greenawalt Yes DeRose had been a telephone operator for several years But she loved excitement and crowds itoo well to endure that Work long so she chose ballet dancing for her career What was this 7 Why it was Janet Slaughenhaupt and Mary Bal lentine acting secretaries to the executive Carl Henry who had Just taken over his father s business Next I beheld the still famous Rose Bowl where the featured players were the Philadelphia Arits managed by Clyde Burns with his cousin Bob as his shortstop player Can you top this 99 Probably not but I found it to be true Yes that was Kaye Shook as a Millionaire s widow with Lois Shoup living with her as a companion and Keith Wensel her chauffeur enjoying it all Instantly everything grew dark in the crystal ball Although I watch ed flor some time nothing more appeared The weird man told me that the crystal ball was exhausted of sales for the day I left the mystical shop satlsfled that the Class of 1951 had certainly gone places and done things since that Commencement Day in May D E M CLASS FAVORITES C0l0rS Green and Silver ACt01' .Ilmmv Durante Actress Esther Williams Cal' Chevrolet Orchestra Guy Lombardo S0Hg My Heart Cries For You Baccalaureate Mav 27 Commencement May 31 Motto The Elevator to Success is Not Running Take the Stairs.
