The Blue lays got off to a bad start and never completely found themselves as Knox handed them a 44-27 setback to gain revenge for a previous loss at the hands of the Blue lays. Curt Wiser was high man for the Blue lays as he found the range for 12 points. February 18, 1949-In the last league game of the season, Sligo traveled to Farmington to end their season with a win and thus making their record 7 wins to 5 defeats. The Blue lays were super- ior throughout the contest as they romped to an easy 47-25 victory. Bob Wonderling was high man for Sligo as he kicked in with 14 markers. February 22, 1949-ln the last game of the year, Sligo really showed fighting spirit that brought them a hard fought victory over their Class B rivals, Rim- ersburg. Shortly after the game had be- gun. the Blue lays took the lead and never relinquished it. Through their speedy passing and cutting. and accur- ate shooting. our boys took a 44-38 de- cision. Thus ended another successful season under the coaching of Mr, Het- rick and Mr. Fleming. February 25, 1949-In a post season game with a fast moving New Bethle- hem outfit, the fast moving Sligo Blue lays really hit their stride. The lays took the lead in the first minute of play and kept it for the entire game. When the final whistle sounded they were leading 66-15.
