Junior Class History We started the year with 32 students enrolled in the class. It wasn't long before we elected our class officers, and they were: President .......................,...,...........,... ..,.. M adeline Evanek Vice President .....,......... .....,...... ....... ....,........ R o b ert Grimm Secretary-Treasurer ..........................,..,................,.,... Bob Callen For the library play, One Mad Night, Miss Myers selected six students of the Junior Class-Fernanda Ginepro, Lois McElravy, Cliff Johnston, Leon Shook, Robert Grimm, and Madeline Evanek. Several of the Juniors are in the Rifle Club, and four of them-Madeline Evanek, Agnes Burns, Bob Callen, and Hunter Craig-won a prominent place on the Rifie Team. We did not participate much in Sports, as we only had two members on the Bas- ketball Teams. Lois McElravy was on the Girls' Basketball team, and Richard Cole was on the Boys' team. Norma McKee and June McFarland were the cheer-leaders and helped to cheer the teams on during the past Basketball Season. The Juniors are very active in the musical departments, Chorus and Band. The members from our class in the Chorus are: June McFarland, Matilda Phillips, Carolyn Dunlap, Norma McKee, Lois McElravy, Leon Shook, Vincent Myers, and Robert Grimm. A large part of the band is composed of the Juniors: Hunter Craig, Bob Callen, Carl Wassum, Vincent Myers, June McFarland, Marilda Phillips, Dick Cole, Clarence Shook, Leon Shook, and Robert Grimm. 1 As for activities we have only had one. not too successful skating party. How- ever, we are eagerly planning a dance on April 17 and the Junior-Senior Prom on May 1. Sophomore Class History On September 2, 1941, forty-four boisterous girls and boys, proud of being Sopho- mores, entered Room 5. However, the number has now changed to forty. Soon after the beginning of school, we chose' the following class officers: President .,.............................................,........,............... Dick Silves Vice President .,..... .... R obert Courson Secretary ............. ....... R ussell Henry Treasurer ......,.............................................,................. Roy Slater Having now reached the exalted level of Sophomores, we felt quite important and spent much time razing Freshmen. From our standpoint the Freshmen Reception was definitely a success. We are all justly proud of Dean Henry, who was chosen as one of the cast for the library play, 'iOne Mad Night. Nine members of our class are in the band: Dean Henry, Jack Barto, Robert Fisher, Deane Curll, Dick Silves, Lois Burns, Mildred Greenawalt, Anna Lou Shoup, and Joan Lobaugh. By next year we all hope to see the two baton-twirling members of our class, Lucille Kunselman and Evelyn McCall, marching ahead of the band. ' Manylof our class are marksmen in the Rifle Club, and one Sharpshooter, Dick Silves, is on the Rifle Team. Three Sophomore girls are cheerleaders: Lois Burns, Joan Lobaugh, and Eliza- beth Craig. All these girls received letters. The Honor Roll shows some Sophomore names, several of which have appeared there every period. Judging from our assem- bly program we have dancers, singers, musicians, and actors on the class roll. The Chorus also has some Sophomore members. Last, but not least, are our boys on the basketball sguad. There are six of these: Wilbur Hartle, Roy Slater, James Harkless, Bob Courson, Raymond Lobaugh, and Russell Henry, all of whom received letters. We're looking forward to a successful season next year, and so, boys, don't let us down. ' 16
