Although they participated in competitions, concerts, and a television tap- ing, their performance here at SHS during the Talent Show left an impression on every student, for they proved that their music was not all that terrible. Their long hours of practice paid off when the students gave them a warm reception. Mr. Williams was especial- i ly happy that the 1978 County Chorus was held in the SHS auditorium. After coun- ties, more work led to district chorus and eventually to regionals for 3 Slatington singers: Chris Cunfer, Steve Ruch, and lane Smith. lane also received the annual Choral Award. Making a two-year tradition out of stu- dent-written Christmas musicals, Debbie Peters wrote and directed the 1977 edi- tion, A Children's Christmas.
