VVE DEDICATE F-KEFLECTIONS 1973 TO IVIFR. BRUCE A. SMITH A witty, intelligent faculty member . . . whose character is marked by perseverance . . .just half of a great advisory team . . . our philosophizing Physics man . . . enthusiastic ecologist. Although a native of Galion, Ohio, Mr. Smithfs ambitions led him to the southwest United States, where he attended the University of Arizona. While concentrating his major efforts in the physical and ecological sciences, he participated in intra- mural softball, football, and golf. After graduation from col- lege, Mr. Smith and his wife, '6Polly,,, moved east to Slating- ton, where he has been a member of the faculty for three years. They are now the proud parents of a beautiful baby girl, Mindy. In the fall of 1970, Mr. Smith was appointed, along with Mrs. Bernice Hicks, adviser ofthe Class of 1973. When he is not involved in our dances, our meetings, and our frantic Christ- mas sales, he enjoys reading a good book of poetry or playing a round of golf. Because of his extensive interest in the phy- sical sciences, Mr. Smith spends much time in the fields of photography and electronics. Being the capable and conscien- tious adviser of the ecology and photo clubs, he is Slatington's own answer to another Bill Lakatas. A teacher . . . a listener . . . a friend . . . a humorist . . . a famil- iar face to all . . . especially to us. We, the Class of 1973, dedicate this yearbook with the deepest respect, admiration, and appreciation to Mr. Bruce A. Smith, for we will never forget him.
