Since we are completing our final year at SHS, we glance back into our recent past. During most of our school years, we have been vicariously adventuring through the eyes, ears, and experiences of others. Now, launching ourselves forward, we are at last setting our own personal and individual goals. As freshmen, we began the process of learning just how many responsibilities would be ours during our SHS odyssey. In our sophomore year, we learned how to solve problems and resort to qualitative thinking. Our junior year, with its declamation contest, prom, and play, was a busy one as viewed from the angles of successful industry and cultural interest. Now, as seniors, we realize that our high school years have been the most vital ones in preparing us for our future adventure into life our Earth Odyssey. Class of '71.

We, the Class of 1971, dedicate our yearbook to Sara Ellen Miller, whose guidance, understanding, and patience have helped many high school students throughout the years. A graduate of Slatington High School, Miss Miller has lived in Slatington almost all of her life. After graduation, she received her A.B. Degree from Wilson College in 1942, and in 1967 she was awarded a master’s degree in German at Kent State University. Her teaching experience includes several years at Konnarock Lutheran School in Vir- ginia. From 1957 to the present she has taught German and Latin at SHS. We will always remember Miss Miller for her willingness. As a friend her attention and sympathy are never ending. As a teacher, her efforts know no bounds. As a worker in community and church affairs her willing hand reaches out to all. To us, one of her greatest contributions is serving as advisor of REFLECTIONS 1971. We, therefore, dedicate a small part of our four years at Slatington High School to Miss Sara Miller.
