CLASS OF ’68 The class advisors are Mr. Marvin Miller and Mrs. Edith Roedcr. This year we welcomed a refresh- ing, energetic group of new faces to Slatington High School. We chal- lenged the freshmen with the difficult chore of adjusting to the more respon- sible life of senior high students and of living up to the traditions of previous classes. They have exhibited a willing- ness to work and a determination to persevere. We wish them all the luck in the world, and we hope they will continue their good work throughout high school. The competent freshmen officers — James Horvath, President; Anita Jones, Vice President; Sarah Kern, Secretary; and Paula Barney, Treas- urer — are capably advised by Mr. Marvin Miller and Mrs. Edith Roeder. Their class motto is “The keys of knowledge open the door to the fu- ture.-’ The class flower is a white rose. The class colors are green and gold.

UNDERCLASSMEN As the visitors enter the gates of the Fair for the very first time, they become over- whelmed with the enormity and variety of ex- hibits. Looks of bewilderment pass among the crowd as they know not where to begin their tour. As they make their way along the avenues of exhibits, the visitors find them- selves confronted with the problem of where to look first for the interest and knowledge which surrounds them. Likened to the Fair visitors, the underclassmen find themselves in a similar situation. No one is more bewildered than the Freshmen, as they plod their way through that first harrowing week. Each classroom and book opens the door to the vast number of pathways to knowledge. But only the students themselves can open their minds to receive this knowledge.
