CONSECRATION Out into a weary, war-torn world Steps the class of forty-five. Where pain, death, and destruction reign; And nations fight to keep alive. Some of our hanks have left us To fight at some distant scene. They are serving their beloved country As a soldier, sailor, or marine. We have left the sheltered inlet. And before us lies the sea With its many unkown dangers Waiting there for you and for me. But we will brave the dangers And fight the treacherous gale. We will fight the mighty deep. And hope that we won't fail. We have been given the preparation; Our goal is now in sight; And the only way to reach it Is to work with all our might. But we cannot all be successful; Life wasn't meant that way. Some will know failure tomorrow. Cause they didn't make use of today. With the Bible as our text book. Experience as our guide, And God for our teacher. We will face the rushing tide. —Jean Frantz
