Sky tennis team becomes coed Entering the season with confidence and trying for theirthird Oakland Athletic League championship was the varsity tennis team. Led by nationally ranked Susan Brown '75, tennis was the first school sport to feel the impact of the new league ruling consentingto coed teams. Returning lettermen in 1974 were Coach Elwood Davidson, Eric Rudney '75, Steve Thorne '75, Steve Stanton '74, Gordon Watters '75, Eric Goodrich '75, and Nick Kikes '74. ', ri 'r 4 3 x Aquatic sports gain many Iaurels With the addition of female members to its roster, the varsity swim team plunged into the 1974 season certain of retaining its first place standing in the Oakland Athletic League. The team, champions for eleven consecutive years, was coached by Fred Noel. Crew In its second year since reorganization, the crew set out to reestablish the prestige ofthe late sixties. The oarsmen were coached by Dave McClain and Bob Kidd. Rated as the best non-snow race team in Northern California and one ofthe better teams in the interscholastic Ski Federation, the ski team planned for perfection this year. Coach Eugene Rockeman conducted team work-outs on campus as well as on the slopes. Highlighting the season was a trip to Utah and Wyoming during Christmas vacation tor a time ot intense practice.
