Titans run away with league crown :ff 'fi' ' ' ' r42::7,v' I On a rain soaked fog covered field Skyline routed its way to a 26-O victory over Oakland High, finishing undefeated in league play for the first time. Beating crosstown rival Piedmont 21-14, the Titans completed the best ever pre-season with a three out of four winning record. Castlemont's Knights were unseated by the rampaging squad, as Theotis Bfrown made two of the three touchdowns leading to a 18-6 victory. Four touchdowns sparked the team to a 27-18 over the McClymonds Warriors. The following week Fremont was defeated 21-12.- Skylines's most impressive victory came against the Oakland Tech Bulldogs, 39-O. A 73-yard run by Theotis Brown accompanied by a touchdown run and pass by quarterback Robert Goady highlighted offensive play, while the defense helped with four turnovers. EM l 'K al- .Wa V' 4 iw' 14 ' r Pa: l After an impressive pre-season, the junior varisty gridders powered their way to the first championship in twelve seasons. With at least a tie for first place guaranteed, the junior varsity team beat Oaklands JV 12-8 in the last game of the season. Having several opportunities to score, the offense was only able to punch it over twice, while the defense held its opponents to one touchdown. ln the league opener, the JV's shutout Castlemont, 19-O. The toughest team of the year was McClymonds who took an 8-6 defeat. During the third week of the season, the stingy defense blanked Fremont 12-O.
