Honorary society accepts eight new student journalists Eight new members were accepted in Skyline's chapter of Quill and Scroll. High school journalists must have at least one hundred and fifty printed inches in the school newspaper and a 'B' average. Skyline has been a part of the honorary society for twelve consecutive years. The two journalism classes gathered news for each edition which reflected the interest of many students. Layout designs and better visual coverage were stressed to give the Oracle a more interesting look. Oakland press recognizes many student newsmen Lake Merritt's Sailboat House was the site of the Oakland Press Honor Association dinner. The dinner, March 7, was attended by publication and journalism students from all six Oakland public high schools. Awards of merit were presented to outstanding students for their contributions and achievements to school publications. Cartoonist Morrie Turner, news commentator lsabel Duran, and sports writer Dave Newhouse gave informative talks about their various careers.
